Everyday HeroesNew Book Release
Everyday Heroes; Stories of Pine Island is a new book by Cheryl Finnegan, which will be released on Saturday, October 21. The book is based on interviews Finnegan has done over the past 35 years. The stories relate how 22 people have influenced others close to them and others in the community. From Chris Dietz, a lifetime Boy Scout to Amelia Shaler who had a baby during a blizzard with help from her husband and her sister when Doc McKaig couldn’t get there in time. Inspiring philosophies, from Kim Tipka, who says that “Every day is a good day,” to Bud Dunkle who advises, “Don’t wear your raincoat in the shower.” Which means, “Live life to its fullest.” The bravery of Harold Pike, who took his first airplane ride at the age of 98 or the Firefighters who follow in their parents’ footsteps and serve the community in dangerous situations. |
